For almost 30 years, CCC has been nationally recognized for its work helping people build organizations and create better communities and policies. The Center's 55 person staff includes many of the nation's leading experts on community development, community organizing, leadership training, coalition-building, housing, welfare reform, jobs, economic development, banking and reinvestment, and Native American issues. Many of our staff learned how to organize communities and build solid organizations by doing it. Those who train managers have usually managed their own community organizations. Those who provide housing help have developed housing themselves. Those who advise leaders of local groups are often experts in their fields.
